Registration for the 2013 Boston Marathon Will Continue
on Monday, September 24.
BOSTON – The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) announced last Friday
that registration for the 2013 Boston Marathon® will continue today,
Monday, September 24 at 10:00 a.m. ET for runners who have met the
qualifying standards necessary for the submission of their application.
Following an initial two-week, rolling admission registration period, which
began on September 10 and concluded on Friday, September 21 at 5:00 p.m.
ET, the B.A.A. will accept applications until the maximum field size is
reached.
For the 2013 Boston Marathon, the qualifying standards were made five
minutes more stringent for each age group and gender. The qualifying times
in effect are listed on the B.A.A.'s web site at:

Those interested in applying for entry into the Boston Marathon must first
meet the qualifying standard by running a certified marathon and posting a
performance within the designated time for their age group and gender prior
to submitting their application.
Verification of qualifying performances is ongoing with regard to
applications for entry already submitted. Applicants will be notified of
their acceptance as their qualifying performances are verified, and the
process may take up to two weeks. Those applicants who are unable to be
accepted also will be notified. Those accepted for entry will be notified
by email and the names of all official entrants will be posted on the
B.A.A. web site.
The 117th Boston Marathon is on Monday, April 15, 2013 which is Patriots'
Day in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
