Press Release - Chicago Marathon - 4/14/14

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

2014 Bank of America Chicago Marathon Registrants Notified Today

Limited Entries Still Available Through The Official Charity Program

CHICAGO - Today, the Bank of America Chicago Marathon announced that 45,000
entrants were selected to run the 2014 race. The field will be comprised of
non-guaranteed lottery entrants and guaranteed entrants, which include time
qualifiers, legacy finishers, international tour groups, and charity
runners. The 37th annual event will take place on Sunday, October 12, 2014,
where participants will compete on the flat and fast Chicago course.

"Bank of America is proud to welcome runners from around the world to
Chicago to experience this first class race," said Tim Maloney, Bank of
America Illinois president. "The Chicago Marathon is a memorable event for
all who are involved, and it is incredibly impactful on the local economy
and charity organizations worldwide."

This year marked the first time that the Bank of America Chicago Marathon
filled its field through the use of a guaranteed and non-guaranteed entry
system after introducing a partial lottery system in 2013 to help service
the demand of participants.

"We're excited about the growing interest to run this race, and are
thrilled that the new process provided our participants with a positive
registration experience," said Bank of America Chicago Marathon Executive
Race Director Carey Pinkowski. "We're looking forward to kicking off the
training season and preparing for a great race day in October."

More than 71,000 people applied for the 2014 race between Wednesday, March
19, and Monday, April 7. All lottery entrants will be notified of their
status via email today, April 14. Notifications on how to complete the
registration process for all selected participants will be distributed on a
rolling basis throughout the day.

For those who are still looking for entries into the Bank of America
Chicago Marathon, a limited number of entries can be obtained through the
Official Charity Program, which has generated more than $100 million for
local, national, and global causes since 2002. More than 65 nonprofit
organizations still have available entries for the 2014 race. Go to
chicagomarathon.com/charity for a list of official charities and for
information on how to register by joining a charity team.
