Press Release - Chicago Marathon - 12/11/18

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Field Selected for the 42nd Annual Bank of America Chicago Marathon
                   With Today's Non-Guaranteed Entry Drawing

Limited Entries Still Available Through Official Charity Teams

CHICAGO - Runners who entered the 2019 Bank of America Chicago Marathon
non-guaranteed entry drawing will be notified of their selection status
today. The 2018 event welcomed a record 44,610 marathoners across the
finish line, and a similar size field is predicted for the 42nd annual
event on October 13, 2019.

"Today marks an exciting day for our 2019 Bank of America Chicago Marathon
runners as they begin their training journey to our finish line," said
Carey Pinkowski, Bank of America Chicago Marathon executive race director.
"I cannot wait to celebrate their strength, perseverance and individual
stories 10 months from now. The Chicago Marathon is a race with a strong
tradition of welcoming new runners and veterans to Grant Park, and we
cannot wait to commemorate 42 years of running next October."

Runners who did not receive an entry through the drawing can still sign up
through the marathon's official Charity Program; a limited number of
entries are available. Since 2002, the Charity Program has generated more
than $185 million for local, national and global causes. Go to
chicagomarathon.com/charity for a list of official charities and
information on how to register by joining a charity team.

Runners who received an entry through the drawing will join those who
guaranteed their entry into the race during the five-week application
window. Guaranteed entries include Chicago Marathon and Bank of America
Shamrock Shuffle legacy finishers, time qualifiers, international tour
group participants, charity runners and those who cancelled their 2018
entries.
