Gearing Up for Grandma's 2011
Pre-race training seminar to feature Katie McGregor
If you are training for a race during June's Grandma's Marathon weekend,
then you won't want to miss the annual Gearing Up for Grandma's pre-race
seminar on Saturday, March 26. This free event from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at
Essentia Health's First Street Building is a valuable training resource for
first-timers or veteran runners alike.
The seminar's featured speaker is Katie McGregor, the 2010 USA Track &
Field Women's Long Distance Runner of the Year.
Last year, McGregor captured three national championships (10 mile, 15k and
25k) and placed second at the USA Women's Marathon Championship with a
personal best of 2 hours, 31 minutes, 1 second. She opened 2011 with a
fourth-place finish (1:12:13) at Houston's USA Half Marathon Championships.
McGregor is a native of Ohio and ran collegiately at the University of
Michigan, where she was a nine-time All-American and three-time NCAA
champion. She has been a Team USA Minnesota member since 2001.

Following the individual presentations, a question and answer session will
be held with all of the presenters. A prize drawing will conclude the
event.
