FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
2014 Marsh Nelson Media Award Announced
(Duluth, Minn.) Grandma's Marathon has announced Marathon & Beyond as the
recipient of its 2014 Marsh Nelson Media Award.
Since its launch in 1997, this bimonthly magazine has been a leader in the
running industry by providing advice, forums, and training programs to
marathon and ultra-distance runners. For the 30th anniversary of Grandma's
Marathon in 2006, the magazine produced Grandma's Marathon & Beyond, a
commemorative issue showcasing the history and highlights of the event's
first three decades.
The award will be presented at the 15th annual Marsh Nelson Media Luncheon
and Award Ceremony on Friday, June 20, in the Lake Superior Ballroom at the
Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC).
The award is given annually to a media member or group to recognize
outstanding commitment to the coverage and development of Grandma's
Marathon. This special award is named in memory of former KDLH-TV sports
director Marsh Nelson for his tremendous passion for covering Grandma's
Marathon and other local athletic events.
