Street Closure Plan Announced For Honda LA Marathon
All four municipalities on Stadium to the Sea route post plans
LOS ANGELES – March 16, 2010 – A carefully-coordinated program of street
closures and traffic and safety control has been announced by each of the
four cities through which Sunday's Honda LA Marathon presented by K-Swiss
will run.
"The new Stadium to the Sea route moves through four municipalities," noted
LA MARATHON LLC race director Nick Curl. "Each of these cities – Los
Angeles, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica – has formulated
their own street-closure and traffic-control plan to meet the needs of the
25,000 participants and local residents.
"We urge people to check out the traffic plans posted by each city so that
they'll be well informed on where they can and can't go and at what times
of the day on Sunday."
Detailed maps of the route with specific closure and re-opening information
are posted on the Web sites of each city along the route:

"The new race course means that traffic will re-open in the Downtown Los
Angeles and Hollywood areas much earlier than in previous years," said
Curl. "We hope everyone will take some time on Sunday to come and cheer the
runners along the route."
The 25th edition of the Los Angeles Marathon will start at Dodger Stadium
with the wheelchair participants at 6:55 a.m. on Sunday, March 21, to be
followed by the women's elite runners at approximately 7:03 a.m. and the
men's elites and the rest of the field approximately 7:20 a.m.
