Press Release - Los Angeles Marathon - 1/21/11

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Traffic-free sightseeing in L.A.? Only on March 20!

Runner registration still available for the Honda LA Marathon

LOS ANGELES, January 21, 2011 – A visit to Los Angeles often includes
landmarks such as Dodger Stadium, Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood,
the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills and the
beaches in Santa Monica for a dip in the Pacific Ocean.

Imagine seeing them all...without a single car in front of you! It's
possible only for participants in the 26th Honda LA Marathon presented by
K-Swiss on March 20.

"The morning was perfect," said 2010 runner-up Richard Limo of Kenya, who
made his first-ever visit to Los Angeles for the race last year. "The run
to the sea was great. Mile 24 [on San Vicente Boulevard] was a great place
to see balloons and flowers and the breeze from the ocean was really
great."

Although the race has been among the top-ten marathons in the world since
its inception in 1986, the new Stadium to the Sea course – from Dodger
Stadium to Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica – helped to set a new record of
26,054 registrants for the 2010 race. And registrations are coming in
briskly for 2011.

"There will be no race-day registration for the Honda LA Marathon in 2011,"
noted LA MARATHON LLC Chief Operating Officer Nick Curl. "We had to cut off
registration early last year and we're asking people to register now and
not be disappointed at the last minute."

Race registration is easy and takes only minutes on the race Web site,
www.LAMarathon.com.

Out-of-town runners are being welcomed with excellent hotel options, either
close to the start in downtown Los Angeles, or close to the finish in Santa
Monica, Venice and Marina del Rey, beginning at $99 per night (plus
applicable taxes). A menu of five downtown hotels and 18 Santa Monica-area
properties is available through the "Travel" section of the Marathon Web
site, with full details on pricing and complimentary raceday transportation
options from both areas to the start at Dodger Stadium, and from the finish
in Santa Monica back to the official downtown hotels.

All runners receive a specially-prepared "technical shirt" for raceday,
with a specially-struck commemorative medal waiting at the finish line, and
a finisher's certificate which can be retrieved electronically after the
race results are certified.

Looking back on the record-setting 2010 race, many of the runners agreed
with women's runner-up Teyba Naser of Ethiopia, who said "I enjoyed the
course, especially the scene as we approached the finish area at the
beach." The same excitement awaits those who register in time to be
included in the 2011 edition on March 20.
