Louisville's Dream Factory Marathon and Half
Announces New Name and Oct. 20 Date
LOUISVILLE - Kentucky's largest fall marathon has announced its partnership
with The Dream Factory as the 2013 race approaches. Louisville's Dream
Factory Marathon and Half will be held on Sunday, Oct. 20, starting and
finishing at American Turners off River Road. Registration will be open to
the first 3,000 entrants.
The course is perfect for fast times with an out-and-back layout on roads
and the paved river walk along the Ohio River. There are full and half
marathon options, both starting at 8 a.m. The cost of entry into the
marathon is $80 until Sept. 30 and $90 up until race day. For the half, the
registration cost is $60 and $70. Awards will be presented to the top-three
male and female finishers overall, along with the top-three in each age
category for both races. Proceeds will be donated to The Dream Factory.
Founded in 1980, the Dream Factory is a national non-profit children's
wish-granting organization with its headquarters based in Louisville. Its
mission is to grant dreams to critically and chronically ill children, ages
three through eighteen. The Dream Factory is the second-largest children's
wish-granting organization in the United States with nearly-90 percent of
all money raised used to grant dreams.
Louisville's Dream Factory Marathon and Half is a Headfirst Performance
event. Headfirst has been producing, promoting and timing races in the
Kentucky/Indiana region for more than a decade with over 100 races on their
annual event calendar. This race is one of its premier events each year.
