Press Release - Twin Cities In Motion - 5/27/10

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Twin Cities In Motion Ready To Run On National Running Day
Group Runs, Training Events, and Special Appearances Highlight
                 Second Annual National Running Day

(Minneapolis, MN) - Runners of all abilities will be able to join in
running with marathon world-record holder Haile Gebreselassie in New York
City as well as eight members of Team USA Minnesota, including Katie
McGregor and Matt Gabrielson, around the Twin Cities on Wednesday, June 2
as part of National Running Day activities. Civic leaders are also joining
in on the day by writing proclamations for National Running Day in Little
Rock, AR, Indianapolis, IN, and more.

From four running events hosted by Twin Cities In Motion in Minnesota, to a
1,500-kid Mighty Milers Fun Run/Walk in New York City, the day will
celebrate the benefits of running as part of a healthy and active
lifestyle. More than 5,000 fans have signed up on Facebook and have posted
their events, which range from track runs at Indiana University-Purdue
University Indiana to a fun-run at Prince Williams Forest in Virginia.

Users can post their events and search for others at www.runningday.org
(click on Participate to create an event and view listings). If there isn't
an event scheduled in a specific area, all runners are invited to create
their own. No event is too big or too small to be part of National Running
Day!

Twin Cities In Motion will be at four metro locations: Life Time Fitness in
St. Louis Park & Highland Park, Running Room on Grand Avenue in St. Paul
and Marathon Sports in Minneapolis. Team USA MN athletes, Twin Cities In
Motion staff and Board of Directors members will be present at all four
sites. Running festivities will begin at 6:00 p.m. so head over to any one
of these locations to celebrate!

Twin Cities In Motion Executive Director Virginia Brophy Achman said the
events will appeal to runners and non-runners alike. "The goal is to make
this day as inclusive and simple as possible," she said. "We look forward
to seeing what a concerted focus on running will look like as Americans
introduce a friend to a sport that is accessible to all."
