FEWER THAN 2,500 SPOTS REMAIN IN MEDTRONIC TWIN CITIES MARATHON
Registration nears completion as numbers push past 75% filled mark
(Minneapolis, MN) –Available spots in the 2008 Medtronic Twin Cities
Marathon are disappearing, as the field surpassed the 75% mark today.
Participants from all 50 states and 16 countries have registered. Capacity
for the October 5 race is 11,000.
"Registration is essentially on-track with last year," said Twin Cities
Marathon, Inc. executive director Virginia Brophy Achman. "With the Bank
of America Chicago Marathon filling last week, we're starting to see an
increase in runners from around the country who may still be seeking the
perfect spot for their fall marathon."
The Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon was ranked 10th largest in the United
States in 2007, based on number of finishers.
