FEWER THAN 500 SPOTS REMAIN IN MEDTRONIC TWIN CITIES MARATHON
Participants registered from all 50 states and 16 countries registered.
(Minneapolis, MN) Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon registration is on track
to close this week, with fewer than 500 spots remaining as of this morning.
On Sunday, October 4, the 28th annual Most Beautiful Urban Marathon in
America will host 11,000 participants, 26 corporate teams, and 25 Medtronic
Global Heroes, hailing from all 50 states and 16 countries.
New this year, one participant will be chosen as the winner of the "Best
Seat in the House" contest, which offers a runner the chance to be treated
as a professional on race weekend, including a chance to toe the line at
the start along with the elite field, an invitation to the press conference
and VIP reception on Friday of race weekend, the opportunity to visit the
elite suite throughout the weekend and the elite tent after their race on
October 4.
The Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon was ranked 9th largest in the country in
2008 according to number of finishers. The marathon is also host to the
USA Women's and Masters Marathon Championships. For more information,

There are 17 corporate teams registered for the marathon. This year, the
ING Neighborhood Cheer Zones will return along the course for spectators to
gather and celebrate the race with an "International" theme featuring a
special international cheer zone to encourage ethnic communities in the
Twin Cities to come out and welcome runners from around the world. The
marathon was ranked 9th largest in the nation in 2008 based on the number
of finishers.
