MINNEAPOLIS, MN (March 3, 2010) – Registration for the 2010 Medtronic Twin
Cities Marathon is more than half full as participants from 49 states and
10 countries continue to join the field. Capacity for the October 3 race
is 11,200.
"We've increased the field by another 200 participants, as interest in the
Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon continues to grow," said Twin Cities In
Motion executive director Virginia Brophy Achman. "In its 29th year, the
Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon continues to draw participants from around
the world. The marathon has the 6th largest number of Boston qualifiers in
the United States, so our participants have a great opportunity to take
this race and use it in their long-range marathon goals."
The Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon was ranked 9th largest in the United
States in 2009, based on number of finishers. There are currently 20
corporate teams taking part in the October 3 race, as well as training
groups from around the country. Medtronic's Global Heroes program returns
to the field in this year's event. Global Heroes celebrates participants
who run with medical devices, and recognizes the shared commitment to
healthy lifestyles.
