Fewer Than 300 Spots Remain In Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon
Participant Registered From All 50 States and 14 Countries
(Minneapolis, MN) – Registration for the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon is
expected to close later this week, as fewer than 300 spots remain for the
October 3 event as of this morning.
The race, dubbed the Most Beautiful Urban Marathon in America®, will host
11,200 participants, 26 corporate teams, and 25 Medtronic Global Heroes,
hailing from all 50 states and 14 countries.
"We hope that anyone who wants to run this year's Medtronic Twin Cities
Marathon will act quickly and register," Twin Cities In Motion executive
director Virginia Brophy Achman said. "We've got another great event
planned, and we want everyone who hopes to run to have a place on the
starting line."
One lucky entrant in the race will be chosen as the winner of the "Best
Place in the Race" contest, which offers a citizen runner the chance to be
treated as a professional athlete on race weekend. The contest-winner's
perks will include a spot on the starting line with elite runners, an
invitation to the press conference and VIP reception on the Friday of race
weekend, the opportunity to enjoy the elite hospitality suite throughout
the weekend and access to the elite tent after the race.
The Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon was the 9th largest marathon in the
country in 2009 based on number of finishers. This year, the marathon is
also host to the USA Men's and Masters Marathon Championships. For more
