A remarkably deep men's field and a women's contingent powered by three

Sunday's Medtronic TC 10 Mile.

Defending men's champion Mo Trafeh of Duarte, Calif. returns to the streets
of Minneapolis as does two-time Medtronic TC 10 Mile champion Abdi
Abdirahman of Tucson, Ariz., who holds the event record of 46:35 set in
2009. Also expected to contend are former 10,000-meter American record
holder Chris Solinsky of Portland, Ore, who is competing in his first USA
road racing championship, Ben True of Portland, Maine, last year's USA 10
Mile runner-up and the recently crowned USA 5K champ, and local favorite
Andrew Carlson of St. Paul, a member of Team USA Minnesota who finished
sixth at the Olympic Trials Marathon in January.

Contenders for the women's title include three members of the USA's London
Olympics squad: Kara Goucher of Portland, Ore, a Duluth native who holds
the Medtronic TC 10 Mile women's course record; Janet Bawcom of Rome, Ga.,
the defending Medtronic TC 10 Mile women's champ, and Julie Culley,
Annandale, N.J., last year's runner-up. Also expected to contend are Molly
Pritz, the runner up at last month's USA 20K Championship and Meghan Peyton
of Team USA Minnesota, who finished sixth in the 2011 race.

In addition to a pair of $12,000 USA champions' prizes, the race will
feature a $10,000 Equalizer Bonus for the first USA Champion – male or
female – to cross the finish line at the State Capitol grounds. The women
will leave the downtown Minneapolis start line ahead of the men. The size
of the head-start will be announced at the Athlete News Conference on
Friday, October 5.

A field of 8500 runners will compete in the Medtronic TC 10 Mile which gets
underway at 7:03 a.m. Sunday. The race is held in conjuction with the
