                              Are Now Closed

Duluth, Minn.: Registration is officially closed for both the 30th annual
Grandma's Marathon and the 16th annual Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon
scheduled for June 17, 2006. Applications are no longer being taken for
either race.

Participants in Grandma's Marathon were taken on a first come first serve
basis. Over 9,500 runners are registered to compete in the race which begins
at 7:30 a.m. near Two Harbors, Minn. and travels a course along Scenic
Highway 61, through downtown Duluth and finishes in Canal Park.

Registration for the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon is conducted via a
lottery system where applicants are selected through three random drawings.
The last fifteen hundred applications were drawn today. The 13.1-mile race
starts at 6:30 a.m. just north of Lakeview Castle on Scenic Highway 61.

Confirmation cards will be sent to all registered participants within four
to six weeks. The best way to verify the acceptance of an entry is to

fee was cashed. Checks for entries that were not accepted will be returned
to the applicant within two to three weeks.
