The course was the best aspect of this race. It was diverse and interesting. The water stations were many and well-staffed. The expo was not worth visiting, with not a single vender there. Course entertainment and spectator support were virtually non-existent. Towards the end of the race, major, busy, city intersections had little or NO police or volunteer supervision. Finishers were supposed to receive a tech shirt, which I never saw. The marathon director has not responded to repeated e-mails in the week since the run. The event coordinators should concentrate on organizing a well run half marathon or less, and not try to imitate the big cities with a poorly-run full marathon.

Not enough porta-potties at the start, and along the route, they need better signs pointing out which way to go - especially at the end of the marathon route. I had no idea whether to turn right to hit the finish line or go left to go around the convention center. Get the cops to do a better job of traffic control. I nearly got hit twice crossing an intersection. The "running shirt" giveaway is not really a "commemorative microfiber shirt" as advertised; it's a poly-cotton t-shirt (booo!). Pasta and Jason's Deli after the race... way to go!!! Way better than the usual fatty pizza options. Include an elevation map of the route for next year's race. I liked that the course turned out to be flat, but it's nice to know this stuff ahead of a race.
