"Distance is longer than 26.2 miles" (about: 2017)

Cons-If you are on the bubble of making a qualifying time for Boston, be mindful that the 2017 course was 26.82 miles long, roughly a kilometer longer than a regular marathon. The organizers clearly don't care, as they will not acknowledge the extra distance. I ran with a group of five, and each one had an odometer that showed we ran between 26.77 and 26.85 miles. Also, there are some long, steady hills, not steep, that don't show on the elevation chart because the chart is compressed. I would describe the course as having a lot of inclines, not super hilly, though. The course is not flat like Houston or Chicago.

The hills mostly are in the first half, with a bunch of inclines scattered throughout the 2nd half.

Size: This is a small marathon. I've run Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Boston, and Austin several times each. I liked the size, just not the course and the lack of response from the organizers.

Pros-small marathon, well spaced water/Gatorade stations,

Crowds-light, but good community support.
Post race party-good choice of food and beverages.
Bling-nice medal (although it should read 26.8 not 26.2), finishers jacket, and race shirt.
Roads-the road conditions were very good, other than in a couple of neighborhoods.
Weather-we had great weather. I would not want to run this race when its hot-there is hardly any course shading.

I've run 5 half marathons before and this is my favorite and I will be back. I drove 3 hours one way, stayed at a hotel but will do it again. The course was peaceful, campus beautiful and organizers were great. Very proud to have the finished jacket and medal.

The only thing I think might should be fixed is a larger finish area but I thought this race was sooo much fun and I'm definitely coming back

Flat, fast, well-designed course with frequent aid/refuel stations. This event was run smoothly by a host of exceptionally friendly staff and volunteers. I will definitely be back next year!

I dont have anything negative to say. The route was well marked. There wasn't anything dangerous. We were well taken care of and I never felt lost. The cheer groups were amazing and the finisher jackets and medals were amazing!

You will experience this race's great organization from the minute you register. You'll get regular updates, race day instructions, good training tips, and lots of appreciation for supporting a great cause. I haven't run the marathon but have run the 1/2 several times

Very well organized. The course has too many twists and turns. Otherwise, a great race.
