COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 I can't say enough about the people Cincinnati and their pride in the Flying Pig. I've run Chicago twice and, despite the sheer difference in number of spectators, I would put Cincinnati's fans on the same level, if not higher. The number of fans lessened between miles 17 and 26, but only because the course turned into a less populous area (what marathon course doesn't?). For those fans that did turn out in between those mile markers, the enthusiasm was just as great. Organization was good, but some changes could be made for the start. It was a little congested, given the number of half-ers starting at the same time, and the road seemed small. I give them extra credit for re-routing the course due to a fire the morning of the race. The course is beautiful, minus the 4-lane highway between miles 18 and 19. It's hilly from the start to mile 10, but it flattens out for the rest of the race. Train on some hills, and you should have no concerns, especially when the hilly parts have plenty of cheering spectators. | |

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 Cincinnati was my first marathon and now having run another to compare it to, Cincinnati is an elite experience. The crowd support is outstanding throughout the course. The course is slightly hilly, but not overwhelming, and most the course is beautiful and filled with charming neighborhoods. The expo is high-class. The best thing about Cincy is it doesn't take itself too seriously. It's fun and well organized. It's a great race, and everyone should give it a chance. | |

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 This was my second marathon. My first was completely flat, with no hills whatsoever, so I was a little concerned when I heard there were lots of hills. I ended up beating my previous time by 30 minutes!! The fans were amazing, as were the volunteers. I would recommend this marathon to everyone. | |

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 The Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon was my first marathon and the most amazing and beautiful race I have ever run. It is such a fun race! The course is absolutely beautiful. The local support is amazing. You run through neighborhood after neighborhood, with homeowners sitting outside offering runners everything from quick snacks and water, to beer, to a full-course breakfast! They were so hospitable! I would definitely recommend this race to everyone! I loved it! So much fun! | |

COURSE: 3 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 This was my 6th marathon and my fastest; however, it is NOT an easy course. Everyone who ran this course told me it was fun. Personally, I did not enjoy the pounding of the downhills one bit, although I trained specifically on hills with high mileage. However, the organization was excellent and expo outstanding. Water stops at every mile made hydration an non-issue. For my spouse to view me on the course, there was only once spot at mile 5 that he could get to, and of course, because every other significant other and family was waiting there, we never saw each other. The finish is a slight uphill with concrete heat. I will not run this one again. | |

COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 4 I've lived in Cincinnati my entire life and it was a pleasant surprise to see so many parts of the city that I had never experienced before (with such beautiful views). I was terrified about the hills from miles 5-8 but didn't even notice the climb because the views were so gorgeous. There was plenty of water/Gatorade throughout the course and the volunteers were phenomenal. The spectators were so incredibly encouraging. I had NO idea we were re-routed around a fire for .25 miles because it was such a smooth change in the course. I'll definitely run this race again; Cincinnati is a very fun city with great food and entertainment, and the Pig only made me love my hometown even more! The expo was incredible, I loved the medals, there was plenty of food at the end (and I finished with the back of the pack), and overall, it was a superb event!! | |

COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 4 I live in a pretty flat area of Ohio so the hills worried me a bit. The course is so beautiful that it almost takes your mind off of the terrain. Don't get me wrong - this is no walk it the park. If your goal is to finish in under 4 hours, you must put in some hill work in the winter months. Make sure you train your legs for the downhills as much as the up. Your quads will thank you later. I have one other marathon under my belt and The Pig is 1,000 times better than Columbus. You see people everywhere and they cheer you on as if you are their kid or parent. The aid stations were absolutely, without a doubt, manned to the extreme, and they did their best to make sure you were taken care of. Those folks should get a finisher medal just for the simple fact they help so many. Entertainment was also top-notch and created the needed diversions. There were many times our pack smiled at things we saw - especially the two men that ran the marathon in hospital gowns. That is what I call funny! I wonder how they finished? The only part of the whole course I didn't care for much was the freeway section. It was unshaded and the fans were pretty sparse. The finish line was first class though, so it made up for it. It was great to run down the last .2 miles with people high above you cheering you on. It almost felt like running into the Roman Coliseum. I will without a doubt be back next year. Bring on winter - there is a great reward in early spring. | |

COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 Ninth marathon, and this was my first Pig (in '08). I hope to be back. Great expo, and it is very easy to get around Cincy for the various events on foot. The race director and team did an exceptional job of rerouting us on next to no notice before the marathon began. (We couldn't hear what was going on and were anxiously looking at our watches but finally began, only about 15 minutes late.) The course support and spectators were absolutely excellent. Aid and restrooms galore. I loved the Runners' Lounge at about 14 miles, the nuns who cheered us on in pig noses, the Parrothead aid station, the view from on high as we ran to the top of Cincy, and seeing all the beautiful parks we ran past. The whole experience was just very positive, right down to the fabulous shirt, bag and medal. There was a LOT of entertainment but there were a few times where a personal song or two would have pushed me on (I only wear 1 earbud, so I can still hear people and sirens), so I do wish we could have worn MP3 players. Many spectators kept moving on the course so we saw them multiple times, which was great. Loved all the dog spectators, too. Shaking the race director's hand was a nice touch; chip removal, medals and race blankets went without a hitch in my mind, as did the gear check. LOTS of food at the end. Thank you, Cincy, for putting on such a top-notch race! All around, fun and a really great experience. | |

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 I have run 14 marathons around the US and hands down this is my favorite - 16,000 runners move easily through the course. Water ever mile was awesome, great shirt, poster, bag and towel. You have to run this race. I will be back. |
