"I am already signed up for next year!!!" (about: 2011)

1 previous marathon | 1 Bryan/College Station Marathon
COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 2

This was my first marathon and other than my time being slower than I wanted, (but it gives me something to build on for next year), the experience was amazing. In parts where there were alot of people cheering it really made you forget what you were doing and enjoy the moment. I wish there had been something set up or organized to get poeple other than families of runners set up at the end and a few spots in the middle. It sure would have made the last 6 miles easier and the wall at 18(Reed Arena). Something to think about for next year. Maybe have the students on campus or aggie band or something. Anyways, all in all it was amazing!!!

"A very nice, small marathon. I plan to run again." (about: 2011)

COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 4

This was in the first running of this race, but the organization was excellent. The volunteers on the course were plentiful, supportive and did a wonderful job. The water stations were all well stocked and efficient. There were some stretches on the course that had almost no crowd support, but that is what I expected in a small marathon. The course was mostly flat with only a few small rollers. The post race barbeque and beer was a nice touch. Overall it was an excellent event that I hope to run it again in the future.

"Overall, a solid race for it's inaugural year!" (about: 2011)

(HALF MARATHON) This race was my first half marathon, and I didn't quite know what to expect. 2011 was the inaugural year for the BCS Marathon, and I thought it was very successful. The majority of the route for the half takes you through the neighborhoods of B/CS. I think the only thing that this race could improve on is getting its name out there more to draw a larger crowd. However, I am certain this will come with time! A+

"Couldn't have asked for a better experience!" (about: 2011)

This was my first half marathon, and I was blown away by how much fun I had. The course was flat and well laid out. The energy from the spectators, volunteers and other runners was contagious. The weather was perfect so that was an added bonus. The race supports two very worthy charities, and I will definitely run again next year!

Chris and his team did an excellent job! The water stations and medical stations were wonderful, the gummybear stations were an excellent idea, and the spectators were constant throughout the course. I will definitely do this again!!!

I loved this race! Very well organized and even though it was the first year of the race there were no hiccups (at least that I could tell!). Hopefully as this race grows there will be more spectators but the ones that were there did a great job! Will definitely be running next year! I did not do the full marathon, I did the half!

This was a very well organized race. The water/gatorade stations were well-manned with plenty for everyone. There was great fan support all along the course. Would definitely recommend this to others.

Great race support, and the turnout for spectators was much higher than I would have thought. Overall a great experience.

"Great race in its first year!" (about: 2011)

This race was extremely well organized. All facilities were top notch. Shirts and Medals were great. People were friendly and helpful. Really nicely done. I probably would have given an established race a 3 for spectators, but they were much better than expected for a first ever event. The course will have to change a little as participation gets bigger, and I look forward to having more clocks along the route in the future. Water stations, first aid, etc., were great. Highly recommend this race!
