"Beautiful!!!!" (about: 2013)

6-10 previous marathons | 1 Big Cottonwood Marathon
COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 4

I've run 9 marathons, and numerous halfs, and this was by far THE most beautiful race I've run. It was well organized from the minute I registered, to when I crossed the finish line. Also the best looking race shirt I've received. Outstanding race overall. I'll be running this one again, for sure.

"I ran it the last two years..." (about: 2013)

6-10 previous marathons | 2 Big Cottonwood Marathons
COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 4  FANS: 4

I loved the race the first year, but the second year was even better! The finish line the first year needed improvement, and the second year it was my favorite finish line of my 8 marathons. True the buses got stuck and we had to hike a bit, but it was a good warm-up. I thought if the buses drive past the guardsman turn off, do a u-turn at Brighton and go back to guardsman, the buses would have a better angle. I was disappointed to hear the route is changing again. This is a BEAUTIFUL, DOWNHILL course and the canyon I grew up with. In fact, running the one little up hill by Market Street, I felt like a mountain goat because I blew up it with no extra effort.

"Beautiful scenery and amazing medal" (about: 2013)

This was my first out of state marathon and I was not disappointed. The host hotel was amazing at having our packets ready for us. The marathon schwag, including the shirts, was great. Shuttle transportation to the start was smooth and organized. The course was beautiful and made me forget about how many miles I still needed to run. The medal was absolutely beautiful. Not only that but they mailed you a cute postcard with your time and overall place. And pictures were free. Very impressed and I will definitely be back for 2014.

"Best Organized Marathon" (about: 2013)

The Big Cottonwood Marathon is by far one of the best organized marathon in the valley. The scenery is as beautiful as the medal. Of course, I will run this marathon again next year. You should Go Big too!

"Beautiful race all around - - love it!" (about: 2013)

Although one of the most difficult things I've ever done. I'm grateful that I chose to do the Big Cottonwood Full Marathon in 2013. We plan to do it again in 2014 and hope to have other family and friends involved with us. We grew up in Cottonwood Heights and spent a lot of time in that canyon. Wonderful to have a race go through this part of our lives and the experiences and memories it continues to bring.

I loved everything about this race. Usually when I finish a marathon, I vow never to do it again. But when I crossed the finish line this year at Big Cottonwood, I was already excited about signing up for 2014!

"Fastest race possible if you train right." (about: 2013)

The elevation isn't a factor with the downhill. Without training at least 10 miles in your long runs, you will bonk. Train with downhill and you will PR.

"This race was fast and beautiful!!" (about: 2013)

This race was done really well. I felt well supported and the race course was a lot of fun. The metals were awesome. My only suggestion is that there was no water at the starting line. All other races I've done have had water so I did not bring any. Overall it was an excellent race and I plan on doing it in 2014.
